Through the barrage and into the Coorong

Spirit of the Coorong runs the only scheduled river cruises that take visitors from Goolwa, through the lock at the Goolwa Barrage, across to the Murray Mouth and into the Coorong itself. The cruises depart from the Goolwa Wharf and run year-round.

What you'll see

Fur seal colonies hauled out on the barrage wall, pelicans, ibis and wading birds along the Coorong shore, the dramatic dune walls of the Sir Richard Peninsula, and the open mouth of the Murray. Most cruises include onboard commentary on the river system and Ngarrindjeri culture.

Pick your length

Three options - a 2-hour Discovery Cruise, a 3.5-hour Adventure Cruise that gets further into the Coorong, and a 6-hour Coorong Discovery cruise that includes a guided beach walk and lunch. Bookings essential.
