Smiling Samoyed Brewery
Microbrewery in an old Myponga dairy factory
An award-winning microbrewery housed in a converted dairy factory in Myponga, famous for its beers named after the owners' Samoyed dogs.
A brewery in a dairy factory
Smiling Samoyed Brewery is a small family-run microbrewery housed in the old Myponga dairy factory on Main South Road. It was founded by Jeff and Simon Wright in 2013 and is named after the family's Samoyed dogs - big white smiling fluffballs who feature heavily in the brewery's branding.
The beer
The core range is built around approachable, sessionable beers - a pale ale, amber ale, stout and lager - alongside a constantly rotating program of seasonal and experimental brews. Several Smiling Samoyed beers have won medals at the Australian International Beer Awards.
The taproom
The taproom opens into the brewery itself, with long wooden tables, big industrial windows and a view onto the brewhouse. The kitchen turns out honest pub food - wood-fired pizzas, schnitzels, burgers and chips - designed to be eaten with beer. Dogs are welcome, which fits the brewery's theme perfectly.
