Fork in the Road Wines
A relaxed bring-your-own-picnic-style cellar door on the heritage cricket oval site at Sand Road, McLaren Vale.
A cricket oval cellar door
Fork in the Road Wines operates from the Old Oval Estate on Sand Road - a heritage McLaren Vale property built around a former cricket oval that still has the green outfield and a few of the original boundary fences. The cellar door is a small bar in the converted oval pavilion.
How it's set up
It is one of the only cellar doors that actively encourages visitors to bring their own food and spread out on the grass for a long picnic-style afternoon. The cellar door pours estate wines and local cheese plates if you forget to pack.
What to expect
Walk-in friendly, family-friendly, and one of the most relaxed long-lunch destinations in the Vale.
