Fleurieu's flagship coastal path
The Encounter Bikeway is a sealed 30km shared walking and cycling path that runs along the Encounter Coast between Victor Harbor and Goolwa. It is mostly flat, mostly off-road, and passes through Port Elliot and Middleton on the way. It is one of the best family and casual-cyclist experiences on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Practicalities

- Bike hire available in Victor Harbor and Goolwa
- The SteamRanger Cockle Train runs parallel for most of the way, so you can walk/ride one way and catch the train back (seasonal)
- Allow 3-4 hours one-way by bike, or plan for a full day with stops
